Buckingham Plan Title

The Buckingham Plan :: Executive Summary

Aylesbury Vale District Council will be publishing its revised Core Strategy in Spring 2009 together with the proposed Aylesbury allocated sites. The rural areas plan will not be available until 2010, and in the meantime, Buckingham Town Council wants to ensure the District Plan reflects Buckingham's desires and aspirations.

Buckingham Plan workshop in progressThe Buckingham Plan consulation was your chance to influence development and planning at a local level - a chance to think creatively and ambitiously about the potential of our town. Without a vision for our own future, Buckingham could well become swamped between the growth of Aylesbury and Milton Keynes with inappropriate development that doesn't maintain or improve the vibrancy and character of our town.

The Town Council has been very pleased with the response from the public events and workshops organised during the summer of 2008, and these helped formulate the strategy and plan, which will be presented to AVDC in April 2009. A copy of the executive summary is now available to download here. A summary of the consultation data can be found here.

Further details are available on the Buckingham Town Council website - together with details of how to obtain your copy of the Buckingham Plan.

The statutory planning documents (now known as the Local Development Framework) are prepared by Aylesbury Vale District Council, and are currently being updated. More detail and downloads can be found on their website here.

Please note that this consultation website will no longer be updated (as of 24 March 2009) and future Buckingham Plan news will be located at the Town Council website.
